Zechariah 9:9
“Your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey.”
Devotional
In a world where kings demand honor and armies show strength, our King came differently. Born not in a palace but a humble manger, Jesus embodied a power far greater than force: humility. The prophecy of Zechariah 9:9 speaks of a King arriving not with warhorses or might, but with gentleness, riding on a donkey.
A true warrior understands that strength does not always shout; sometimes, it is found in restraint, humility, and grace. Jesus, the King of kings, laid down His glory to live among us, to serve, and to save. His humility was not weakness but divine strength—an example for all who follow Him.
This Christmas, as warriors of faith, let us lay down pride, selfish ambition, and the desire for earthly power. Follow the path of the Humble King, leading with grace and serving with love. For it is in humility that true victory is found, and through His example, we are equipped to lead others toward the eternal kingdom.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for sending Jesus, the Humble King, to show us true strength through gentleness and grace. Help me to follow His example and lead with humility, serving others as You have served me. Amen.
