Reign Forever

Forged for the Fight

Proverbs 27:17

⚔️ Devotional:

Steel does not grow strong in stillness. It is shaped in the crucible, under the strike of hammer and heat. So it is with the soul of a warrior. Alone, he may survive. But only in the company of the disciplined and the righteous is he honed.

Proverbs 27:17 is not a gentle proverb. It is a call to the forge—a place of sparks and impact. To sharpen another is not to flatter, but to challenge. It is not to pacify, but to provoke excellence.

A true brother does not leave you dull and complacent. He confronts, refines, and uplifts. The sharpening may wound the pride, but it strengthens the spirit. In the company of fellow warriors—men who walk in truth, bear burdens, and fear God—you are not coddled. You are carved into a blade fit for the King.

The question is not do you have brothers, but are you one? Do your words sharpen or soften? Do your actions call others to stand taller, or do they lull them to sleep?

The war is not coming. It is here. Sharpen your edge.

🛡️ Prayer: The Prayer of the Sharpened

O Lord of Hosts,
Forge in me a spirit unyielding.
Surround me with brothers of truth and fire—
Men who strike sparks of righteousness,
Who speak not comfort but courage,
Not ease but endurance.
Sharpen me that I may sharpen others.
Let iron meet iron in Your name,
Until we stand together—
As swords in the hands of the King.
Amen.
