A Call to Courage

Luke 2:10

Devotional

As warriors, we are often faced with battles that test our courage and resolve. The shepherds on that first Christmas night knew this feeling well. In the quiet of the fields, they encountered something overwhelming—an angel declaring a message that shook their world: “Do not be afraid; I bring you good news of great joy.”

Fear is a natural response to the unknown, but the angel’s message reminds us that courage is rooted not in the absence of fear but in the presence of good news. The birth of Jesus Christ is the ultimate good news—a Savior born to redeem, restore, and lead us into eternal peace.

This Christmas, let the courage of Christ fill your heart. He calls you to stand firm in the battles of life, knowing that His victory is already secured. The same God who came humbly as a child is the King of Kings, strong and mighty to save.

When fear whispers its lies, let the words of the angel ring in your heart: “Do not be afraid.” Embrace the joy and courage found in Christ, your Savior and Commander, and press on with faith.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the good news of Jesus’ birth. In moments of fear, remind me of the courage You offer through Your presence and promises. Help me stand firm in Your strength and proclaim the joy of salvation to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
